Mile Catchers
Join one of our Delivery trips from either Auckland to Opua, Opua
to Auckland or an offshore passage from Auckland to Vava'u in the
Kingdom of Tonga and in a completely interactive environment you
will learn techniques in coastal navigation, sail handling, ropework,
deckwork, watchkeeping, safety and much much more.
The passage are fun and a great way to explore New Zealand's North Eastern coastline or log your first offshore experience to Vava'u, while gaining seatime and learning skills required for your choice of our RYA sailing courses.
Our average delivery for the NZ coast is 24 hours. The offshore passage will take you approx 10 - 14 days. You must allow sufficient time away from personal commitments to account for weather and travel back home.
All Mile Catchers students must be of RYA competent crew standard for the NZ passage or RYA day skipper standard for the offshore passage. Our mile Catchers voyages will enable you to gain 120nm logged seatime for the NZ coastal delivery and 1350nm for the offshore passage to Vava'u.
We run our Mile catchers voayges on a regular basis between November
and April from our bases in Auckland and Opua, Bay of Islands. Whether
